We established our non-profit arm of the corporation in
late 1999. The foundation was certified as tax-exempt
501 (c) 3 on December 23, 1999. All contributions are
tax-exempt. The scholarship program is written so that
original shareholders and their direct blood descendants
may apply for funding. We have two application
periods, Jan 2nd - March 1st and then April 1st
- June 30th each year. You may apply during
either period, but we only award one scholarship per-student
per-year. Most scholarships are $500 per student, and
the number of scholarships awarded each year depend
upon available funding. We hold a raffle each year at
our annual Shareholders Picnic (the
Sunday after the annual shareholders meeting) to raise
funds. Donations are accepted year round, and a letter
is mailed for tax purposes. Scholarship applications
are available each year after January 2 on our website
www.the13thregion.com, since we have the two application
periods please notice the deadlines to have the application
postmarked. Funds awarded as of 2004, total over $65,000.
